Ed Lycan Conservatory Wedding | Oklahoma City Wedding Photographers
We do a lot of weddings every year & we meet so many great people. On a rare occasion we get to do a wedding for someone we already know. I’ve known this groom, Drew, since high school. When I was a green haired, plaid pants waring, punk rock singing teenager Drew was my senior class president. We merged over a love of Dylan & Woody Guthrie heading to a Bob Dylan / Phil Lesh concert together one time. He is just a great dude! If there could have been the perfect match for him described to me it would be the perfect match found. They fit together like chicken & pickles….what? you prefer peanut butter & jelly? Go to chick-fil-a & order a chicken sandwich without the pickles THEN tell me they don’t go together. BOOM!! Just blew your mind.
From the first email I knew this wedding was going to be awesome. First off any Ed Lycan Conservatory wedding is a win. It’s so beautiful. If you have never seen it you need to stop by Will Rogers park in Oklahoma City to see it. The park is always a bit crowded but with a couple like this they just rolled with it. They also had to roll with a bit of rain but I’ve never seen a couple who planned an outdoor wedding care less about rain. It sprinkled a bit at the end of the ceremony & not a single person in the wedding party missed a beat as we stood in the rain to snap photos. Just a genuine group of friends. I loved it.
Secondly any even that has Oklahoma City staple Big Truck Tacos as the wedding food is going to be a good one. Couple that with the brides custom candies & pastries she had brought in from Canada where she & her family are from. On a side note if you ever get a hold of the little hard candies pictured below they are crazy sour!
